Looking for a Finmark replacement?
Reviewed September 21, 2026 · Sources listed below
Short answer
Finmark, the runway and financial modeling tool BILL acquired in November 2022, was retired as a standalone product on April 1, 2026. Sondola replaces the reporting half of it: runway, burn and revenue metrics read from your accounting, bank and billing tools, plus investor updates. It does not build forecasts.
What Sondola covers
Runway and burn
Read from QuickBooks Online or Xero, with cash from Mercury, each figure dated and sourced.
Revenue metrics
MRR, ARR, churn and ARPU from Stripe, RevenueCat or Paddle, on complete periods only.
Investor updates
A monthly update whose figures come from the same readings, sent as a private link you can turn off.
Goals
A target, a period and the pace to hit it, graded against the real number as it arrives.
What it does not do
Driver-based forecasts, scenarios and headcount plans. Keep a spreadsheet model for those and let Sondola keep the actuals in it current.Budget versus actual by expense line. Sondola reports burn and cash, not every ledger account.Your numbers should always be able to leave
Metapraxis reports that Finmark data not exported before the retirement date can no longer be retrieved.Every Sondola workspace can download everything it holds at any time with Open Books: every reading with its source, every correction, goals, notes and investor updates, as CSV, JSON and Markdown. The owner can still download it after cancelling, until the deletion date. What happened to Finmark?
Finmark, the runway and financial modeling tool BILL acquired in November 2022, was retired as a standalone product on April 1, 2026.
Can I import my Finmark exports into Sondola?
No. Sondola does not import files or models. It reads current figures from your tools, and an owner or manager can type in a reading for a number no tool reports, so its history sits beside the collected ones.
Is Sondola a financial planning tool?
No. It shows what happened, from the source, and whether you are on pace for a goal. It does not project future periods.
What does it cost?
The Startup plan is $149 a month billed yearly, or $179 month to month, per company with unlimited users. Startups that have raised under $5M with fewer than 50 people can apply to use it at no cost, renewed each year while they qualify.
