What Sondola reads from Paddle: MRR, paying subscribers and net revenue. Read-only, with the source and period beside every number.
In beta. You can connect it today and it is built to the vendor's documented API, but it has not yet run for long across many workspaces. Check its first readings against the tool itself.

What Sondola reads from Paddle
- MRR
- Paying subscribers
- Net revenue
What you need
- A live Paddle Billing account (not Paddle Classic, and not a sandbox: Paddle does not serve metrics there) and permission to create API keys.
Collection timing and the period a reading covers are separate. Check the source's data-through date as well as the metric's reporting period.
Connect Paddle in 4 steps
- Create a read-only key
In Paddle go to Developer tools, then Authentication, then the API keys tab, and press New API key. Name it, for example Metrics read-only.
Paddle: API keys ↗ - Give it one permission
Select metrics.read and nothing else. It lets Sondola read the numbers on your Paddle dashboard and cannot change anything.
Permission: metrics.read. - Set an expiry you will remember
Paddle asks for an expiry date: 90 days by default, a year at most. Sondola shows the date and warns before it arrives.
- Copy the key
Paddle shows it once. Paste it here. It must be a live key: Paddle's Metrics API does not exist in sandbox.
Enter credentials only in your Sondola workspace. Keep keys out of screenshots, public repositories and support messages.
What Sondola asks you for
Paddle, Developer tools, Authentication, API keys, New API key. Give it only the metrics.read permission.
Paddle keys expire, 90 days by default and a year at most. Keys made before 12 March 2026 lack metrics.read and need replacing. Keys made before 6 May 2025 cannot carry permissions at all.Your live Paddle account. Paddle does not offer the Metrics API in sandbox, so Sondola can only read a live account, with a read-only key.
Secrets are stored encrypted in your workspace, in a vault kept separate from the application database. Sondola never shows them again.
Permissions
- One permission, metrics.read, and nothing else. It cannot change anything.
- A live key. Paddle keys expire, 90 days by default and a year at most.
Refresh and first reading
Twice a day. Most tools refresh once or twice a day, and every number shows when it was read.
Save and test reads one day of paying subscribers, which proves the key carries metrics.read. Revenue is net of tax and Paddle fees and before refunds, in your balance currency. MRR and subscribers are read at the end of each period.
Troubleshooting
Save and test rejects the credential.
Paddle keys expire, 90 days by default and a year at most. Keys made before 12 March 2026 lack metrics.read and need replacing. Keys made before 6 May 2025 cannot carry permissions at all.
The test passes but no reading appears.
Paddle is a Pick the metric source. A working connection produces nothing until you choose a metric and its period. Then check the metric's reporting period and the source's data-through date.
A number differs from Paddle.
Compare the definition, unit and reporting period with the same number in Paddle before treating a difference as an error. When a stored reading changes, its history keeps the old value, the new value and the reason.
