What Sondola reads from RevenueCat
- MRR
- Active subscribers
- Trials
- Churn
- Revenue
The RevenueCat connector covers MRR, active subscribers, trials, churn and revenue. It is a selectable-metric source: connecting RevenueCat and choosing which number a metric reads are separate steps.
What you need
- A RevenueCat project admin who can create the key for the intended project.
- An API v2 secret key with charts_metrics:overview:read and charts_metrics:charts:read permissions.
- The Project ID from RevenueCat's project settings.
Collection timing and the period a reading covers are separate. Check the source's data-through date as well as the metric's reporting period.
Connect RevenueCat in 4 steps
- Create the RevenueCat key
In RevenueCat, open Project settings, then API keys and New. Create a v2 secret key with the two read permissions listed above. Copy the Project ID shown under the project name in Project settings.
- Enter the connection details
In your Sondola workspace, open Settings, Connections, then Integrations and choose RevenueCat. Enter a Connection name, the API v2 secret key and the Project ID.
- Save and test
Choose Save and test to check the connection. The RevenueCat connection check reads the project overview. Save for later stores the setup without establishing that the test passed.
- Choose a metric and inspect its first reading
Select the metric and what it should read from RevenueCat. Review the test result for the last complete period before saving the metric setup. Verify the definition and period rather than relying on the connection result alone.
Enter credentials only in your Sondola workspace. Keep keys out of screenshots, public repositories and support messages.
Permissions
- An API v2 secret key with two read permissions: charts_metrics:overview:read and charts_metrics:charts:read.
Refresh and first reading
Twice a day. Most tools refresh once or twice a day, and every number shows when it was read.
Limits and history
- The declared collection cadence is a schedule, not a promise of real-time data. RevenueCat may still be processing the period you need.
- RevenueCat's Charts & Metrics API has a default limit of 25 requests per minute. A rate-limit response is different from an empty business result.
- A fixed historical import window is not specified in the public connection help. Confirm that the earliest period you need is available before relying on a historical comparison.
Verify your first reading
- Open the metric's What it means section and confirm that the definition matches the RevenueCat number you intend to review.
- In Where it comes from, confirm RevenueCat and compare the same reporting period in both tools. Check the captured date separately from the period end.
- For money metrics, compare the currency and revenue definition. MRR, revenue and money received in a bank account are different measures.
- Check Connection status separately. A successful overview request does not by itself establish that the chosen historical chart period is available.
Troubleshooting
The connection test fails.
Check that this is a v2 secret key for the intended project, that both read permissions are enabled and that the Project ID matches.
The connection succeeds but the metric is empty.
Check the selected metric and reporting period. The connection test reads overview data. The chart you selected still needs usable data for that period.
The figure differs from RevenueCat.
Compare the metric definition, period, currency and any source-side filters before treating the difference as a calculation error. Then inspect correction history if a stored reading changed.
