What you need
- You need the Account Holder or Admin role in App Store Connect: only those can generate Team keys.
Collection timing and the period a reading covers are separate. Check the source's data-through date as well as the metric's reporting period.
Connect App Store Connect in 6 steps
- Open the API keys page
App Store Connect → Users and Access → Integrations → App Store Connect API → Team Keys.
Open Team Keys ↗ - Generate a Team key with the Admin role
Press Generate API Key (the + next to Active). Name it, for example Sondola. Access: Admin. Generate. Why Admin: sales and trends need the Sales and Reports role, finance reports need Finance, and the app analytics reports can only be requested by an Admin key. One Admin Team key covers all three.

Download API Key in the key's row. The link disappears after one download and Apple keeps no copy. Open the file in a text editor and paste everything, including the BEGIN and END lines, into Private key.
- Copy the Issuer ID and Key ID
Issuer ID is at the top of the Team Keys page. Key ID is in the key's row.
- Find your Vendor Number
Payments and Financial Reports → top left, under your legal entity name.
Open Payments and Financial Reports ↗ - App Apple ID
Apps → your app → App Information → General Information → Apple ID, a number. Save and test lists your apps and checks this one is visible to the key.

What Sondola asks you for
Users and Access → Integrations → App Store Connect API → Team Keys → Generate API Key. Access: Admin. Download the .p8 once (Apple keeps no copy), open it in a text editor and paste the whole contents here.

Secrets are stored encrypted in your workspace, in a vault kept separate from the application database. Sondola never shows them again.
Permissions
- A Team key with the Admin role. Sales and trends need Sales and Reports, finance reports need Finance, and only an Admin key can request the app analytics reports.
- Sondola uses the key only to read reports.
Refresh and first reading
Once a day. Most tools refresh once or twice a day, and every number shows when it was read.
Save and test signs a 20-minute token and lists your apps. Sales, finance and analytics reports are read on the schedule.
Troubleshooting
Save and test rejects the credential.
Team key with the Admin role. An Individual key cannot read Sales and Finance at all, and only an Admin key can request the app analytics reports (impressions, product page views, conversion). Individual keys and keys with narrower roles cannot be widened later. Revoke and generate a new one instead.
The test passes but no reading appears.
The collector runs on its schedule, so a successful test does not mean a reading has landed. Check the source's data-through date and the metric's reporting period, and treat a missing reading as missing, not zero.
A number differs from App Store Connect.
Compare the definition, unit and reporting period with the same number in App Store Connect before treating a difference as an error. When a stored reading changes, its history keeps the old value, the new value and the reason.
