What Sondola reads from Brex: cash on hand and card spend by vendor. Read-only, with the source and period beside every number.

What you need
- A Brex account admin. Brex asks the company to accept its developer terms once, the first time anyone opens Developer.
Collection timing and the period a reading covers are separate. Check the source's data-through date as well as the metric's reporting period.
Connect Brex in 3 steps
- Open developer settings
Sign in to Brex and open Developer, then Settings.
Brex: developer settings ↗ - Create a read-only token
Press Create Token and name it, for example Sondola read-only. Tick only these three: View cash accounts, View cash statement data and View card transaction data. Every one of them is read-only, so the token cannot move money or change anything.

Enter credentials only in your Sondola workspace. Keep keys out of screenshots, public repositories and support messages.
What Sondola asks you for
Brex, Developer, Settings, Create Token. Tick only View cash accounts, View cash statement data and View card transaction data.
A Brex token stops working when the person who made it is deactivated. Make it as an account admin who is staying.Secrets are stored encrypted in your workspace, in a vault kept separate from the application database. Sondola never shows them again.
Permissions
- Three read-only permissions: View cash accounts, View cash statement data and View card transaction data.
- The token cannot move money or change anything.
Refresh and first reading
Twice a day. Most tools refresh once or twice a day, and every number shows when it was read.
Save and test lists your cash accounts and checks that card spend is readable. Cash on hand is the closing balance on each month's statement, added up across your Brex cash accounts, so a month appears once Brex has closed it. Card spend is settled purchases less refunds.
Troubleshooting
Save and test rejects the credential.
A Brex token stops working when the person who made it is deactivated. Make it as an account admin who is staying.
The test passes but no reading appears.
Brex is a Pick the metric source. A working connection produces nothing until you choose a metric and its period. Then check the metric's reporting period and the source's data-through date.
A number differs from Brex.
Compare the definition, unit and reporting period with the same number in Brex before treating a difference as an error. When a stored reading changes, its history keeps the old value, the new value and the reason.
